The Victory Center Staff

I have been the Executive Director since 2010 and am continuously awed and inspired by the cancer patients and survivors we serve every day. I am so grateful to be a part of The Victory Center and everything we do. Prior to coming to TVC, I spent nearly 18 years in the fundraising/development field. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my kids and hubby, teaching a Nonprofit Administration class at my alma mater, BGSU, volunteering for various organizations and dreaming of the beach!

I have been involved with The Victory Center in one way or another since 2013. As a two-time cancer survivor myself, I have experienced firsthand the benefits of the services offered and the environment created by TVC. I am thrilled to be part of the staff and help make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. Outside of work, you can find me walking the Metroparks with my dog Lucy or taking a craft class somewhere around Toledo.

For several years, I dedicated my life to NW Ohio/SE Michigan as a meteorologist at both WTOL and NBC24. After a brief stint in South Bend, Indiana, I’m proud to be back in Toledo…but it wasn’t the weather that brought me home! I’ve found my forever-family in Toledo with my husband, Josh, and the team at The Victory Center. In 2021, I took over planning our three fabulous fundraisers: Over The Edge for Victory, Luncheon & Fashion Show and Celebrity Wait Night. I’m thrilled to be part of the healing process for men, women and children going through cancer in our community. When I’m not working, I’m watching true crime documentaries with my rescue dog, Ginger.

I am so excited to be a part of the team here at The Victory Center! After watching my mom go through her breast cancer diagnosis and journey, it changed me as a person and made me want to live a more compassionate and loving life. I’m looking forward to being able to offer a warm smile, a big hug or some words of encouragement and positivity to everyone who comes through our doors. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, Jonathan, and our two cats, Gus and Sylvie! We love going to antique stores and finding funky items to add to our eclectic home.

I am thrilled to be part of The Victory Center and do such rewarding work with an impressive group of people. Having lost both parents to cancer, this cause is very near and dear to me. The services that TVC provides truly make a difference in so many lives, and it is an honor to be a part of the organization. Prior to TVC, I spent 8 years in higher education (marketing) and 14 years as a Broadcaster/PR Director with the Toledo Storm, Mud Hens and Walleye. In my free time, I enjoy broadcasting high school sports (BCSN), traveling, finding a good beach to read a book and spending time on the golf course with my wife, Jennifer, and our two sons, Hank and Eddie.

I started at The Victory Center as an Oncology Massage Therapist and yoga instructor, and soon realized I had found my people!  Now, I gratefully serve as the organization’s Support Navigator. I have lost family members to cancer which then changed everything from how I live this life to every relationship I hold. It’s my passion to help others along life’s journey by advocating for those who can’t advocate for themselves, creating ceremonies and rituals to celebrate life’s milestones, becoming a death doula, and educating others about alternative therapies. In my spare time, I enjoy communing with mother nature through gardening, planning magical walks with my grandchildren and discovering 4 x 4 offroad trails and adventures with my husband.

I am originally from Napoleon, but have made Defiance my home for about 30 years. Along with my husband, Jay, and sons (Dez and Zack), we have always valued contributing to our community. My background is in journalism, marketing and special events. I love to plan a themed party! I spent over two decades raising my children and providing in-home daycare. Now that my sons are grown, I am rediscovering golfing, reading and spending time relaxing at Indian Lake with my husband. I have seen family and friends fight cancer and working at The Victory Center helps me feel like I am helping others, while honoring my loved ones. I am so grateful to be part of the dedicated staff, therapists, and volunteers here!

As a cancer survivor, The Victory Center holds a special place in my heart. Before joining the team, I personally benefited from the services and support offered here during my own cancer journey. I later became involved as a volunteer and had the honor of participating in The Victory Center Fashion Show. Today, I am grateful to work alongside such a compassionate team and help others facing challenges similar to those I once experienced.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my four grandchildren, relaxing by my pool, and exploring the outdoors. Whether hiking, kayaking, or camping, I appreciate opportunities to stay active and enjoy nature with family and friends.

As the newest member on the team, I can honestly say that it is a great pleasure to work here at the Victory Center. After retiring from Job and Family Services I have held various jobs in various fields, but for some reason service to others has always been a large part of where I seem to land.  I have also traveled the cancer journey alongside several members of my family as a caregiver, and I understand that journey very well.  Lots of love, laughter, and a friendly smile can make a hard day on the journey a little brighter. I spend my free time creating one-of-a-kind earrings, reading whodunit books, having very competitive battles of Scrabble with my husband Gordon, and being ignored by my cat Hermione.
